Gili Air is a beautiful tropical island located just 1.1 km from Lombok, only a 10-minute boat ride away. Known for its white sandy beaches, clear turquoise waters, and relaxed island atmosphere, Gili Air is one of the most popular destinations in Indonesia for travelers seeking a peaceful yet vibrant escape.

In the local Sasak language, “Gili” means island and “Air” means water. The island covers 173 hectares and is home to around 1,400 residents, making it the most populated of the three Gili Islands. The other islands include Gili Trawangan, famous for its lively nightlife, and Gili Meno, known for its quiet and romantic atmosphere.

There are no cars or motorbikes on Gili Air, creating a peaceful and eco-friendly environment. Transportation is limited to traditional horse-drawn carts (cidomo), bicycles, and electric bikes. Visitors can walk around the entire island in approximately one and a half hours.
